Martha Reeves launches "The Love Campaign today."

City Council Candidate and Motown star Martha Reeves is launching her Campaign for Detroit City Council today at the St. Regis Hotel at 1:00 P.M. Dubbed the "Love Campaign", Martha Reeves will speak to her special friends and supporters about her campaign to bring love to government.

According to Ms. Reeves, "I remember a time in Detroit. A time when everybody had flower boxes on their porches and gardens in their yards.
Music was coming out of the homes and people all spoke to each other, because they knew and respected each other. People didn't lock their doors at night. Over the years, it seems we've lost the love in Detroit. Our campaign to bring the message of love to city government is just what we need in these trying times. Love means coming together and putting aside our differences to achieve our common goals. Everywhere in the world I go, people mention Detroit and then start talking about love. If the whole world can see our love, why can't we?"

Martha Reeves will take questions from the media and voters about her unique campaign approach and will address why "love" is the antidote for Detroit's ills". Martha Reeves filed for office Tuesday and was certified as an official city candidate. She plans an aggressive campaign reaching out to voters. She has a large volunteer base who will be spreading the message of love in the neighborhoods, in the churches and in the streets. When asked if she thought her "Love Campaign" would work. She said, "I've never seen love fail yet. It's what built Detroit. It's what will bring Detroit back."
